Why do I give up so easily?

My mom tried teaching me to knit when she barely knew how and it always ended up in one big knot of yarny mess and she kept yelling at me which made it harder so I gave up.( I finally told her to stop teaching me and I taught myself and know I'm good at it.) She tried to teach me how to crochet which she she is like an expert at and she was yelling directions, taking it from me and fixing it, making watch, and then I thought i finally understood how to and now I'm in my room and IT ended in one big not so now I'm giving up and i can't teach myself because it's my mom's book on how to crochet not mine. Help?!?!?!?!?!?(sorry in wrong category probably it is the one it suggested)
