Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping water in fresh cut flowers for a bridal bouquet?

I am helping my sister with her bridal bouquet...she is planning on carrying a bouquet of cut flowers. Does anyone know a way of keeping water in the stem so the flowers do not dry out at wilt? I have heard of gluing the cut ends of the stems, but I don't know what type of glue to use....any tips??
