This boy won't leave me alone... Help?

Okay so this boy lives in my neighborhood and he constantly texts me and IMs me on facebook; and its starting to annoy the **** out of me. And now he came up with some idea that were hangn out in a few days and I really really don't want to. He tells all my friends that he only likes me as a friend but I think he might think were BEST friends or something... Idk I just refuse to hang out with him. Itd be entirely too awkward. and we have absolutly nothing in common. How can I get out of this without being a *****? And how can I just get him to leave me alone entirely? It's getting annoying as hell. Please help.
