Can my cl A misdemeanor prevent me from getting my nursing license and a job?
I was convicted of a cl A misdemeanor in January 2003 for intent to defraud, basically I was with a friend with a stolen credit card. Then in 2006 I was convicted of another cl A misdemeanor for driving on suspended license. Never served jail time, completed all probation with no problems and paid all restitution and fines, btw i supposedly obtained a tank top and pair of jeans from old navy off the credit card. I was 21 at the time and a single mother, I could not afford a decent attorney, so like anyone else scared to death I took a plea not knowing that it would follow me for life. Now 29 Im in school starting the nursing process. But I am thinking twice about it now with all the horror stories i have been reading online. I just dont know what to do and I really dont wanna waste any money on school if there is no chance for me. Is anyone in or ever been in a similar situation? I just need some honest advice and any help. Also I live in Indiana, cant expunge anything here and getting a pardon, well I should not even waste my time or Mitch Daniels.
