My yarn hand is sore after I crochet?

After I crochet, my left (yarn) hand hurts, right under the base of the middle finger. It mostly hurts when I extend my hand or press on the bone. I just learned how to crochet, could it be because I am not used to crocheting and will it eventually go away after I get used to crocheting?
